Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer 25-100-hour Certifications, a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training course, and an 850-hour Yoga Therapy Certification program. Our programs are accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and registered with Yoga Alliance. Additionally, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion for each course not included in the above.

  • Yea! We enable flexible learning since all of our programs are online. Some of our courses include the option of live hours in New York City. These hours are simultaneously broadcast on Zoom,  allowing the students to learn from anywhere.

  • Our evidence-informed teaching approach integrates the esoteric techniques and traditions of yoga with clinically informed information. The faculty is comprised of renowned doctors, teachers, and yoga therapists who equip students with the knowledge to create wellness programs for body, mind, and spirit.

  • It takes two years to complete a Yoga Therapy Certification as presented in an 850-hour program consisting of core modules, electives, and practicum hours.

  • The curriculum includes but is not limited to the following courses: structural alignment, Ayurveda, breathwork, restorative and Yin yoga, sound therapy, myofascial release, yoga in healthcare, meditation, mindfulness, and Yoga Nidra.

  • Yes, we have a Yoga Therapy Clinic where trained therapists offer individual sessions. The sessions are drawn from Ayurvedic and yogic techniques that can help a person deal with mental and physical imbalances.

  • If you are not a yoga instructor, you may take most weekend courses, workshops, and most first-year courses for a better understanding of yoga, to deepen your practice, and to share yoga with your friends and family. Should you decide in the future to become a yoga instructor, PYI will honor completed hours towards a 300 hour advanced certificate from Pure Yoga. Please note that to register with Yoga Alliance as a yoga teacher, you must first take a 200-hour beginning yoga teacher training. Please see their site for guidelines.

  • PYI does not issue any refunds, but we are happy to give you credit for another course if an emergency arises.

  • Yes. Healthcare providers may use this course to incorporate therapeutic yoga and mindfulness into their clinical practices where appropriate, for self-care, and/or to best prescribe yoga to patients or clients.
